Ensim Released Unify Enterprise Edition 1.5

The producer of hosting management software Ensim announced it released new version of its Unify Enterprise Edition - 1.5. According to company the upgrade “brings new functionality to enterprises looking to optimize their IT infrastructure, increase the security and control of Exchange deployments and enable a mobile workforce”.

Ensim Unify Enterprise Edition is a system-management software software that allows enterprises to automate provisioning and change requests within their unified communications infrastructure. It is available for Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and mobility applications. The software comes with template-driven management interface which enables IT to automate both simple and complex tasks, as well as offer delegated administration to employees. The most important features of the Version 1.5 include:

Quick Start Wizard for Administrators

The new 1.5 version offers a quick-start and step-by-step wizard which aims to help system administrators to perform post-installation configuration tasks.

Enhanced User Management

This version enables administrators to select default groups for a user when creating the user account, lock down user templates, manage user attributes, move user accounts from one OU location to another, list a user’s group memberships, check availability of a requested user name, and customize the list of user attributes being managed by Unify.

Improved OU Management

Ensim Unify 1.5 provides a simplified OU management. The OU structure in Active Directory and any updates to the OU hierarchy are automatically synchronized with Unify. Administrators can select the OU location during the provisioning process when creating users, groups or contacts.

Simplified Role Customizations

Unify’s simplified web-based UI can be used to customize and manage administrative rights according to each admin role.

Other Configuration Options

Unify can be confugured according to specificc internal business policies. Once configured, it automatically applies these policies for each defined business process, including user account, user termination and permanent termination settings, group membership, archiving user account, and archiving user home folder and data.

New Web Services API

The new version of Unify Enterprise features an improved web services API for seamless integration with an enterprise’s existing systems.
